What it does.

Absence from the request to the day off. Somebody asks, their approver decides, and the balance works itself out from what has actually been approved rather than from a number anybody types. Approved leave shows up in the shared calendar, so the rest of the company can see it without being told.

REQUEST Four things to fill in, and the approver already known from the reporting line
BALANCE The year’s allowance, counted down from approved absences, never typed
CALENDAR Approved leave appears in the shared calendar the whole company reads
CLASHES Blackout periods and public holidays, visible where the decision is made
CARRY OVER Unused days carry into next year, up to the cap you set
