Cordango vs ServiceNow App Engine

ServiceNow already does AI plus governance. This page is about what each one costs you to adopt.

If our pitch were only “AI creation with governance built in”, ServiceNow would have taken it already. Build Agent generates applications, workflows and agents from a prompt, and App Engine Management Center governs the whole lifecycle centrally. ServiceNow spent 2026 promoting prompt-built applications as governed by default, which is close to word-for-word what we say.

So this page is not about features. It is about weight. ServiceNow is a platform you adopt: a programme, a partner, an implementation, a centre of excellence, and a very large amount of capability that pays back when you use it. Cordango is a subscription that arrives with a company foundation already decided. For an enterprise that is already on ServiceNow, this comparison barely makes sense. For a growing company that has never had a platform team, it is most of the decision.

Feature availability and pricing change. Every row is checked against the vendor's own current documentation, linked at the foot of this page.

Default means it is there without anyone setting it up. Available means the vendor supports it, sometimes only on a particular plan. Build or configure means it is possible and it is your work. Not a focus means the product is aimed somewhere else.

FIG.01

The short version.

Where ServiceNow App Engine wins
  • REACH One platform across ITSM, HR, operations and custom applications
  • GOV App Engine Management Center governs the whole application lifecycle
  • AI Build Agent generates applications, workflows and agents from a prompt
  • PROOF Deployed at a scale and in industries we cannot claim
  • DEPTH Workflow, integration and process capability far beyond ours
Where Cordango wins
  • LIGHT A subscription rather than a programme. No implementation partner needed.
  • CTX Organizations and people are platform records, with nothing to model first
  • EU German data centres, and we name the provider in the sub-processor list
  • ASK Too complex to generate? We build it on the same core, not through a partner.

FIG.03

The architecture difference.

We cannot win an argument about whether AI creation and central governance can coexist. ServiceNow settled that question, publicly, and it has the customers to prove it.

What is different is the size of the thing you take on. ServiceNow is a platform an organisation adopts, with the implementation, the standards and the owners that implies, and it pays that back in reach: workflow depth, process capability and coverage across a whole enterprise. Cordango has none of that reach. It has a fixed company foundation, a subscription and nothing to implement.

The honest way to read this page is by size. If you have a platform team, a partner and an enterprise-wide mandate, ServiceNow is a stronger answer than we are. If a department needs three internal capabilities this quarter and nobody is going to run a platform programme to get them, we are the lighter one, and lighter is the whole argument.

Where ServiceNow App Engine winsVS-12

ServiceNow App Engine is the better choice when the mandate is enterprise-wide, when you need workflow depth beyond internal operations, or when there is already a platform team and a partner to run it properly.

FIG.04

Which one should you pick?

Pick ServiceNow App Engine if

  • 01 You already run ServiceNow, or you are about to
  • 02 The mandate is enterprise-wide rather than departmental
  • 03 You need workflow and process depth beyond internal capabilities
  • 04 There is a platform team and a partner to do it properly

Pick Cordango if

  • 01 There is no platform team, and there is not going to be one
  • 02 You want capabilities this quarter, not a programme
  • 03 German hosting and a named sub-processor list matter in procurement
  • 04 The scope is internal operations rather than the whole enterprise
SRC

Where these facts come from.

What we can show you, and what we cannot. Cordango holds no ISO 27001, SOC 2 or C5 certification today, and has not commissioned an external penetration test yet. We would rather you read that here than find it in procurement. Security and permissions at Cordango, and the data processing agreement in full.

No programme required.

Bring a process that would otherwise wait for a platform programme. We will build it in the demo, on a company platform where the records, the rights and the history already exist.
