# Cordango vs ToolJet

ToolJet covers the internal-tool builders and the AI builders at once. Cordango deliberately covers neither.

ToolJet is awkward to compare against because it refuses to sit in one category. It markets natural-language creation of full-stack enterprise applications, so it competes with the AI builders. It has a database, integrations, agents and workflows, so it competes with Retool. It self-hosts and carries SOC 2, GDPR and ISO positioning, so it competes with Budibase. Any argument that starts “this category cannot do X” loses to ToolJet.

The comparison that holds is the one about responsibility. ToolJet gives a builder a great deal of reach and expects somebody to hold the result together: the data sources each app points at, the roles each app grants, the instance if you self-host it. Cordango takes that reach away and gives you a company instead, with the records, the rights and the history already decided.

## The architecture difference.

ToolJet is the strongest argument against a lazy version of this whole comparison set. It generates from natural language, it gives a builder real depth, it self-hosts, and it has the assurance paperwork we do not have yet. Any table row that reads “they cannot do this” would be wrong.

What ToolJet does not do, and does not set out to do, is decide what your company is before you build. An app there begins by connecting to data. It is a development platform, and a good one, which means somebody has to keep twelve apps agreeing about what a customer is, and somebody has to own the instance if you run it yourself.

Cordango removes both jobs and charges you for it in flexibility. There is no canvas, no self-hosting, and no route to the kind of bespoke screen a ToolJet builder can produce in an afternoon. What there is instead is a company that already exists, and capabilities that read it.

Where ToolJet wins 

ToolJet is the better choice when self-hosting is mandatory, when a builder wants real depth over the result, or when you need SOC 2 or ISO evidence on file today.
